Oil filter housing suitable for
-BMW G20 320I 330E B48 2.0 TURBO
-BMW G30 520I 530I 530E B48 2.0 TURBO
-This part has proven a very problematic item on the B48 4 cylinder engines, leading to many oil leaks on these cars. The plastic housing can suffer cracks which can cause oil to leak either externally or internally. Some believe the rubber used on some of the seals may not have been oil resistant enough, which may cause the rubber gasket/seals inside to be affected by the hot oil, swell and get puffy, and in some cases actually cause the plastic surrounding (and positioning) the gasket to crack. Repeated temperature changes and the nature of plastic parts themselves only contribute to this rash of early failures.
-Aluminum is definitely more durable than plastic. Definitely worth considering so you don’t have to worry about breaking your OEM plastic oil filter housing. This is a good opportunity to upgrade and not just replace!
